The NYU Voice Assistant aims to make a voice platform that would allow students to talk to the university through this platform and get instant response and feedback on topics like classes, on-campus events, day-to-day businesses and more. Say goodbye to the tedious work of navigating through the school's website and making calls for every small activity. We plan to use various existing API's provided by NYU to get data for the platform.
To develop NYU's own AI which can allow students to ask school-related questions through voice or text
To help students conduct day-to-day businesses and retrieving information at NYU easily and efficiently
To provide students with easy access to all events conducted across the NYU campus
To expedite the process of getting information that is relevant to the student through Natural Language processing
Currently, students need to navigate through different and numerous pages on NYU websites to find information. NYU Voice Assistant can provide a centralized service for all these activities.
Students sometimes require some quick information about their classroom location, course information or schedule. Searching the website may take a lot of time, especially for students who are new.
We referred to our own design standard for this approach, which is solving an existing issue from a UX/UI aspect. After researching and identifying the existing problems, we conducted our user research to find their pain points so that those pain points can be converted to solutions, or features for our product.
